Oceanside High School's Youth Council has been working in collaboration with Oceanside SAFE Coalition in a prevention campaign known as "Project Sticker Shock". This campaign will include a variety of local restaurant merchants who are currently providing curbside pick up and delivery during quarantine. Participants include EGP Oceanside, JPauls Terrace Cafe, Moe's Southwest Grill, Naples Street Food, Dcocco's Pizzeria, Dirty Taco (RVC) & Bonbino's Pizzeria. The mission of the project is to get important messages out to the community regarding the risks of underage drinking (especially in the wake of quarantine / COVID 19), and encourage families to engage their youth in these important conversations.

Under the guidance of Oceanside SAFE, The Youth Council developed a message / designed a sticker that will go on delivery bags, pizza boxes, etc. and into the homes of oceanside community members. We understand that due to the recent events happening in the world that teens now more than ever are at risk of developing substance use disorders. This project is an attempt to encourage community members to be aware of those risks, and engage their children in preventative conversations at home.

We thank all our local restaurant vendors for agreeing to be a part of this initiative, and applaud our incredible Youth Council for their incredible advocacy!
