3rd Annual "Prevention Night"

Join us as OHS students and their parents come together to explore the importance of prevention and learn more about local resources available to them.
December 5, 2024

Oceanside High School Auditorium

The evening's agenda will include:

  • Welcoming remarks from OHS Youth Council
  • Presentation from LICADD on current trends in youth substance use and the impact on the teen brain (including the role of the dopamine pathway in developing an addiction and changes to the brain that occur when youth use substances).
  • Naloxone (Narcan) training for opioid overdose prevention. Learn the signs of an opioid overdose and the steps to help save a life by administering Narcan.

Community Service Hours will be honored for student attendance!

Parents / Guardians will all receive a free copy of "The Parent Handbook" from Operation Parent. (Copies available in Spanish as well).
